BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe gets new diesel versionsJune 9, 2020
The Bavarian automaker spoke about the cost of the recently announced diesel versions of the 2-Series Gran Coupe.
In late May, BMW made a huge number of relatively small updates for a wide range of models. As a result, the Gran Coupe 2-Series will be available not only as a 150-horsepower version of the 218d, but also as a more powerful version of the 220d with a 220-horsepower engine and xDrive.
The biggest news is the appearance of the 218d modification with a powerful 2.0-liter 150-hp diesel engine. and 350 Nm of torque, which will be located in the line between the 116 hp option. and 270 Nm and a version with a return of 190 hp and 400 Nm. Although the 216d is only available with a 7-speed automatic transmission and the 220d with an 8-speed, BMW supplies the 218d with both manual and automatic 8-speed transmission.
According to autoweek.nl, in Europe the Gran Coupe 218d 2-Series with a manual transmission costs 40,586 euros, only 22 euros more than the 216d with automatic transmission. For the option 218d with an automatic transmission, you will have to pay 44 123 euros.
As already mentioned, the 190-horsepower 220d is now also available in combination with the BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. As with the front-wheel drive variant, the Gran Coupe 220d xDrive is always equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission and is priced at least 50,486 euros
