BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe gets a new engineSeptember 25, 2020
The Bavarian automaker is expanding its engine range for its models. BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe received a new gasoline unit – 220i.
The youngest member of the BMW 2-Series family, the Gran Coupe, has so far only been offered with two petrol engines. At the very bottom of the status ladder is the 140hp 218i. and 220 Nm, and at the top is a very powerful version of the M235i xDrive with 306 hp. and 450 Nm. Now a third engine option has appeared on the 2-Series Gran Coupe’s pricing list.
The 220i is the new engine version for the 2-Series Gran Coupe. This four-cylinder petrol unit has 178 hp. and 280 Nm of torque, and is always paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. It allows the 2-Series Gran Coupe 220i to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.1 seconds. Average fuel consumption, depending on the version chosen, is 5.9-6.7 l / 100 km.
According to the press service of the Bavarian brand, the starting price of the BMW 2-Series Gran Coupe 220i is 41,060 euros. For a model with paddle shifters, you will have to pay 41,584 euros. The model is already available to order from dealers.
