BMW 2 Series Active Tourer seen in winter testsDecember 14, 2019
There is no data yet when the official presentation of the car will be held, but it is already known that the new generation is positioned as the 2021 model.
The day before, on a road test in winter conditions, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer was spotted. This car first appeared in 2014 and became the first re-drive in the model range of the brand. The model is positioned as a compact touring car. Previously, BMW announced that the model would be discontinued. However, a few months ago it was announced that a new generation of the car was being prepared. The body shape of the car is similar to the MPV of the French brands, but in a more premium performance. If you look closely, we can conclude that this is more of a restyling than a new generation. Many elements are made in the style of the BMW 1-Series. We are talking about a high grille and the shape of the navigation lights.
It is already known that the interior of the car will receive significant changes – a digital dashboard and a modern infotainment system will be installed in the cabin.
The manufacturer also changed the shape of the steering wheel and gear selector. In the motron range will be presented two power units. They will be 1.5- and 2.0-liter engines with a return of 116 and 231 hp. respectively. It is possible that with a successful start of sales, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will receive a hybrid version. Engine with a return of 116 hp will be paired with a 7-speed DCT, and the “senior” power unit will receive a pair of automatic transmissions by 8 stages.
