Best Car Brands NamedFebruary 23, 2020
Consumer Reports Agency published a rating of leading car brands
Consumer Reports, a nonprofit organization specializing in consumer protection, has conducted another study of automotive brands in the United States. Experts ranked the best brands based on a series of road tests, social surveys, the availability of basic security systems and the criterion of “predicted reliability”.
The leader of the rating was the Porsche brand – all three German brand models tested by Consumer Reports were recommended for purchase, showed the highest customer satisfaction rate, and demonstrated high reliability and safety.
In second place on the list was the Korean premium brand Genesis, Subaru dropped to third place. Other places in the top ten were occupied by the brands Mazda, Lexus, Audi, Hyundai, BMW, Kia and MINI. The Fiat cars showed themselves the worst: the Italian company closed the ranking of 33 brands; at the end of the list are Mitsubishi, Jeep, Land Rover, Cadillac, Jaguar and GMC.
Consumer Reports experts emphasize that road tests of new cars were carried out anonymously, to assess satisfaction, car owners were asked the question “would they buy a car of this brand again”, “predicted reliability” was calculated using the owners express test, and safety was assessed by the availability in the basic configuration of active and passive protective systems.
Last week, J.D. Consulting Agency presented its brand reliability rating. Power Analysts interviewed 100 owners of three-year-old cars of each brand and tabulated complaints for each brand. Listed by J.D. Power in the first five were also Genesis, Lexus and Porsche.
