Bentley unveils new Continental GT Speed with rear steering systemMay 6, 2021
Bentley has invited British media to showcase its new Continental GT Speed for the first time. The brand shared all the technical details of “the most dynamic road-going Bentley ever built” and at the same time revealed a new gallery of photos featuring him.
In addition to more firepower, the new Continental GT Speed is the first car to feature a rear steering system. It is also the first Bentley to feature an electronically controlled rear limited slip differential.
According to the creators of the model, they have turned out not only a more maneuverable super-G, but also a novelty that can really fly out of the corner. Recently, the developers have calibrated the sport mode of the drive. It limits the available front axle to 28% and nearly disables the oversteer torque applied in Comfort and Bentley drive modes.
In addition, the new Continental GT Speed features the world’s largest car brakes with 440mm carbon discs up front and giant 10-piston calipers.
Bentley claims their latest generation carbon brakes save 35kg of unsprung weight and are exceptionally fade resistant.
Under the hood is the familiar Bentley 6.0-liter W12 twin-turbo engine. Its power has grown to 650 horsepower compared to 626 hp. in a regular model. The torque remains the same – a whopping 900 Nm. In addition, the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission can shift gears twice as fast as the standard Conti GT in Sport mode.
As a result, the new Continental GT Speed can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 335 km / h.
