New record recorded at Salon Privé elegance contest

Bentley sets a new record at the British Salon Privé elegance competition In one place, the representatives of the brand managed to assemble 1321 cars of the brand – from the oldest EXP2 to the ultra-modern EXP 100 GT.

Bentley continues to celebrate its centenary, and therefore takes an active part in various events. As part of the Salon Privé, the company organized a collection of owners of almost all historical and modern models. In total, 1321 cars arrived at the annual Bentley Drivers Club rally: the oldest was released already in 1920, and this is the oldest Bentley in the world, the new Continental GT introduced the modern lineup, and the futuristic EXP 100 GT grand tour allowed a glimpse into the future of the brand.

There, at the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance, Bentley showed a unique car built by the Mulliner branch. Specialists from the technical center managed to restore the Corniche sedan, a lost pre-war model that never became serial. The original car was seriously damaged in an accident in 1939, and its body, the work of the Carrosserie Vanvooren studio, was destroyed during a bombing attack on port docks in Dieppe. At first, a group of enthusiasts was engaged in the construction of the car, and at the beginning of 2018, the project completely came under the control of Mulliner.

Moreover, if Corniche will remain in one copy as a demonstration of the capabilities of the Bentley court atelier, then another historical model will go into a small series. It’s about the pre-war racing 4 ½-Liter Team Blower. Twelve replicas of the legendary car will be built using spare parts from the original one: they will be scanned and similar parts for new cars will be made based on 3D drawings.
