In accordance with the rules of the race, the SUV in order to stay in the serial class, will receive a minimum of modifications. He received a security cage, built-in fire-fighting system, racing seats and seat belts, as well as the Akrapovic exhaust system.

Engine – six-liter twin-turbo engine W12 – will remain unchanged. The output of the unit is 608 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. He is paired with a multi-speed automatic transmission. From zero to 100 kilometers per hour, the serial SUV accelerates in 4.1 seconds. The maximum speed is 301 kilometers per hour.

In addition to the engine, the standard air suspension will remain and active electromechanical stabilizers of lateral stability with power from the 48-volt network.

The current track record among off-road vehicles belongs to Range Rover Sport. In 2014, Paul Dallenbach at the wheel of a car with a five-liter compressor eight-cylinder engine climbed the mountain in 12 minutes 35.61 seconds.

The company Volkswagen, which after a long break announced its return to the Pikes Peak, will also put behind the wheel of its electric prototype of the famous rider. They will be the winner of “24 Hours of Le Mans” and “Pikes Peak” Roman Dumas.
