Just yesterday, the official presentation of a new version of the Toyota Prius was held at the auto show in Los Angeles. The hybrid Japanese sedan, which will be positioned as a car of the 2019 model year, has received many updates. Perhaps, one of the most significant of them has become an all-wheel drive – a similar version of the car will now be available not only in the domestic market of Japan, but also in other countries.
A foreign car publication Cars Direct a couple of minutes ago reported that they had got a document for the Japanese novelty.
According to this document, the guys from Toyota changed the name of the complete set. A total of four variants of the 2019 Hybrid Prius will be offered – L, LE, XLE and Touring. Four-wheel drive will be offered starting with version LE, the initial price tag on which is equal to 27,300 dollars. The XLE version will be worth at least $ 29,740.
The simplest configuration L Eco will receive a price tag of $ 24,690 dollars. Note that the current “base” of the Japanese car (it is called the Prius One) is equal to 24 395 dollars.
Toyota Prius 2019 model year received an additional electric motor, which is engaged in unwinding the rear axle. According to company representatives, four-wheel drive is needed to improve the initial acceleration – it works at speeds up to 9 km/h. In addition, an additional electric motor can help the car to pick up speed up to 69 km/h.
