Base Toyota Supra in Europe will be released with a turbo four

In Europe, they will offer a standard variation of the Toyota Supra sports car, which will receive a 4-cylinder turbo engine. Previously, only the flagship version was available here, which has a 3.0-liter turbo four (340 hp, 500 Nm).

At first, Toyota was going to sell the “standard” Supra only in the Japanese market, but a year after its official premiere, the company changed its own plans. Now a sports car with “younger” engines will be available not only in Japan, but also in Europe. The 2.0-liter BMW B48 turbocharged 4-cylinder powertrain develops 258 hp in the specification for the European market and 400 Nm, the only gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.

A car with a similar engine can accelerate to the first “hundred” in 5.2 seconds versus 4.3 seconds in a variation that has a 3.0-liter “turbo six”. The maximum speed is 250 km / h, so in this regard the 3.0-liter versions have no advantages. Thanks to the turbo four, the Supra is 100 km lighter than the flagship engine version.

Already in the basic configuration, the Supra, which has a 2.0-liter engine for Europe, has 18-inch wheels, an 8.8-inch multimedia system, black Alcantara upholstery and a set of electronic assistants. For a surcharge, they will offer an active differential, adaptive suspension, more powerful brakes, a projection monitor, wireless charging for a smartphone, a navigator and electric seats.

According to assumptions, in Europe, the new version of Toyota Supra on sale will appear in March. A special modification of the Supra Fuji Speedway Edition has been released for this event – its circulation will be only 200 units.

There is currently no cost information. The coupe, which has a 3.0-liter turbo engine, is sold on the European market at a price of 62.9 thousand euros.

In addition, it was previously noted that Toyota has prepared a hybrid Toyota RAV4 for Europe. Here, the hybrid crossover will be known as the Toyota RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid.
