Baojun introduced the seven-seater crossover RS-7June 15, 2020
The car turned out to be very spacious and technological. In the case of a budget price tag, it can very successfully start in the car market of China.
SAIC presented the new crossover RS-7. It is noteworthy that the debut took place not online, but at a small auto show in the Chinese city of Chongqing. The novelty received three rows of seats and a very spacious interior. It is noteworthy that the car is in many ways similar to the more compact RS-5 – they have a common modular platform R with a transverse motor arrangement. However, the RS-7 is not just a stretched version of the RS-5 – the new items have wider doorways, and the silhouette has also changed slightly.
The length of the Baojun RS-7 was 4,930 mm with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm, which provides a lot of space in the cabin, even on the third row of seats. A modification with 6 seats will also be available – in this case, two individual seats with adjustments will be on the 3rd row of seats. Trunk volume is not officially announced, but the developers promise good roominess.
The interior of the novelty turned out to be very technological – the dashboard received a digital performance, and the multimedia system began to possess a large set of functions. The climate control unit is made in the touch version, also the car received the original gearshift lever.
In the maximum configuration, customers will be able to rely on a panoramic roof and leather trim.
As a power plant, a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a return of 177 hp is used, which works in tandem with a variator and a front-wheel drive system. The novelty should go on sale as early as this fall.
Meanwhile, the presentation of the new Baojun RC-5 took place. The car is available in two body styles – liftback and station wagon.
