Australian Grand Prix will remain in the calendar until 2025July 19, 2019
Grand prix of Australia will remain in the calendar of the championship at least until 2025 – the relevant agreement between the leadership of the Formula 1 and the promoters of the race in Albert park were signed in London.
The Australian stage of the World Cup is considered one of the most popular: over the last three years, more than 900 thousand fans visited the Melbourne race, and everyone has long been accustomed to the fact that its organizers have managed to create the atmosphere of a true motor sport festival, from which for many years (for rare exceptions) the season begins.
Chase Carey, executive director of Formula 1: “We are pleased to extend the contract with Melbourne, with the city, which will take the Australian Grand Prix until at least 2025. The decision to extend our relationship for another two years is due to the fact that this race in the capital of Victoria is always a great success, it is very popular with fans and everyone who works in Formula 1.
Working together with our partners from the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, we plan to make this stage even more vivid and entertaining. Today’s statement followed the events of the previous week, connected with the British Grand Prix, and confirms that more and more promoters share our vision of the future Formula 1.
We want to quickly return to Melbourne, where from 12 to 15 March next year we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of this race and the continuation of our cooperation, which will allow us to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Grand Prix in Albert Park in 2025. ”
