Audi’s compact electric crossover will debut next year. At first, the most accessible model of the e-tron line will be shown as a concept, and it will be released to the market simultaneously with the e-tron GT Grand Tour in 2021.
Edition Autocar writes that the compact SUV will be built on a modular platform MEB, developed by Volkswagen Group specifically for electric vehicles. In the lineup of crossovers from Ingolstadt, it will occupy a niche between Q2 and Q3. The design of the novelty will be traced to the e-tron GT: both models will have a similar shoulder line, grille, air duct shape.
Compact crossover should be one of the most popular electric cars Audi. Its price according to preliminary estimates will be about 30 thousand pounds sterling. In total, by 2025, 12 fully electric models will appear in the portfolio of the German mark, among which there will be five more crossovers.
Presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show, the Audi e-tron GT will be serial in two years. The electric “four-door coupe” was developed with the participation of Porsche experts and built on a new, second in line platfrom e-platform. Audi e-tron GT is equipped with two synchronous electric motors. Their total power – 590 horsepower. From a spot to one hundred kilometers per hour, the show car accelerates in 3.5 seconds. Maximum speed is limited to 240 kilometers per hour.
