Audi will send for repair almost 64 thousand cars because of diesel scandalDecember 7, 2018
Large-scale recall starts in Germany today. Recall that “diesel gate” was spoken about back in 2015, when software was found on a WV car that was used to falsify data on polluting emissions of diesel engines. It is the software engines and will be engaged during the service action.
Owners of Audi cars who live in Germany will have to part with their vehicles for a while. On Friday, December 7, a revocable campaign begins, which will affect about 64 thousand cars of this German brand. All cars that fall under the service share are equipped with V-TDI diesel engines.
According to the German weekly magazine Der Spiegel, the list of models turned out to be rich – these are cars with indices A6, A7 Sportback, A8, as well as Q5 and SQ5. All of them, as experts found out, do not meet the Euro 6 environmental standard.
It is known that during the repair work, German engineers will remove one of the software components responsible for engine operation. Such interference with the software will not have any negative consequences for the engine itself or for the environment. All work will be free.
