Audi will develop a virtual electric supercarMarch 13, 2018
Audi has published on its Facebook page a virtual electric supercar teaser designed for the Gran Turismo Sport racing simulator. The prototype will be presented completely on April 9.
Details about the virtual project are not yet reported. Judging by the hashtags, the novelty will receive the designation Vision GT e-tron. It follows that the race car will be equipped with an electric power plant and a drive system for all-wheel drive, as well as a massive wing.
Audi will not be the first automaker to develop a computer supercar for playing Gran Turismo Sport on the PlayStation 4 console. So, in October, Peugeot introduced the L750 R HYbrid race car. The car body is made of carbon fiber, thanks to which the mass of the concept is only 825 kilograms.
The prototype is equipped with an internal combustion engine and an electric motor. The petrol engine has a capacity of 580 hp. and a maximum speed of 10,000 rpm. The motor works in conjunction with a 170-horsepower electric motor. The total output of the L750 R HYbrid is 750 horsepower.
The electrical installation is powered by a cooled lithium-ion battery. Also, the car is equipped with a 7-speed gearbox, which> as well as power units, is installed on the rear axle. Up to 100 km / h the car can be accelerated in 2.4 seconds.
