Audi SQ8 spotted in the “green hell”November 5, 2018
Audi has launched a speed test of the sports version of the flagship crossover SQ8. The car came across photospies during a road test at the Nurburgring highway.
Another “charged” Audi model was spotted on the test in the “Green Hell” (the former Formula 1 circuit at the Nürburgring). Photospies, like spending the night near the track, were seen several prototypes of the future sports version of the flagship SUV SQ8. Despite the large size, the rapid image of the new sports cross looks harmonious. And it seems that this model will be able to make a positive impression on opponents of crossovers.
According to preliminary information, the “charged” crossover will be offered with two different engines, depending on the region of sale (it was also with the sport SQ5). Probably, under the hood will be installed engine from a younger version of the SQ7 – 4.0-liter turbodiesel with a maximum capacity of up to 429 horsepower. As part of a hybrid on the Bentley Bentayga Diesel, it can develop up to 900 Nm of torque. In America, where the petrol versions are most popular, the 3.0-liter TFSI V6 biturbo engine becomes the most likely candidate.
Analysts are confident that the presentation of the Audi SQ8 will be held at the end of the month at the Los Angeles salon. On sale model will appear no earlier than 2019.
Meanwhile, Audi will be the first brand to use partial matting in the mass production of cars. The first model with an available option will be the Q2 crossover.
