Audi SQ8 officially presentedJune 22, 2019
Externally, the charged version of the coupe-crossover differs from the base model in a body kit; the technical “stuffing” is borrowed from Q7.
The engine is a 4-cylinder TDI diesel, delivering 435 hp at peak torque 900 Nm. Such results are achieved by using three turbochargers at once, one of which is electric. His duty is to work at low speeds when other turbines are still sleeping. Their principle of operation is sequential: units come into operation in turn – first a small turbine, then a large one. Both are located in the engine block. Due to this, the exhaust gases quickly find themselves in the area of the impellers and the engine instantly reacts to the touch of the accelerator pedal. In conjunction with the engine works 8-band automatic transmission.
With such a power unit, the Q8 accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km / h.
The voltage of the onboard network is 48 volts, while the starter also performs the functions of a generator. To power some chassis components (compressor, active stabilizers, etc.), an additional battery is used. When the speed is set at 55 km / h (up to 160 km / h), the engine is turned off when the foot is removed from the gas pedal in the car, and further movement for 40 seconds is coasting. Thus, energy recovery takes place. Air suspension auto adaptive, customizable. Optionally available full control chassis.
