Audi Sport unveils second generation RS3 LMS racing carFebruary 6, 2021
Audi Sport revealed an updated version of the RS3 LMS racing car on Friday 5 February.
The novelty from the sports division of the German company Audi has integrated body extensions and a front end with revised air intakes. For the first time, Audi Sport engineers were able to fully calculate the aerodynamic components on a computer using a flow simulation without the use of a wind tunnel.
The new model is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EA888 engine with a standard engine block and cylinder head, crank drive, valve train, intake manifold, fuel injection, turbocharger and two water coolers. The performance of the power unit is 335 hp.
The Hewland 6-speed sequential transmission has a new dual-clutch transmission that weighs 800 grams less than the previous model, further reducing rotational mass and inertia. It is worth saying that the RS3 LMS has become the most popular Audi racing car in the world.
In addition, some time ago it was noted that the German automaker Audi announced the cost of the updated RS 6 and RS 7 models for the Russian market. It should be emphasized that these cars have a 600-horsepower (800 Nm) 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine.
