Audi Sport expands its lineup with Audi RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback crossoversSeptember 26, 2019
Audi Sport has expanded its range of crossovers with the launch of the new RS Q3 and its coupe-like variation, the RS Q3 Sportback. Sales of new items should begin in the first half of 2020. It is worth noting that it is positioned as the main competitor to the Mercedes-AMG GLA45 and BMW X4 M.
The “charged” crossovers have a five-cylinder 2.5-liter TFSI turbo engine with 400 hp output. and a torque of 480 Nm. In conjunction with the motor, a 7-speed automatic transmission S tronic and four-wheel drive quattro function. Audi RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 250 km / h, while the corporation offers to increase it to 280 km / h for a surcharge.
New items have made structural changes in comparison with simple variations of the SUV, as a result, both models are equipped with 10 mm widened wheel arches, another radiator grille, a modified front bumper and a small spoiler at the rear. The front and rear of the machine are equipped with conventional LED lights.
However, the differences between the RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback are more noticeable on the side: the sloping roof in the Sportback coupe style is 45 mm lower than the RS Q3. The coupe-like novelty was also equipped with its own rear wing design, as well as a rear bumper and diffuser, designed to distinguish it from behind and make the car even wider. Both new items are equipped with two exhaust pipes.
The new cars received a sports suspension that is 10 mm lower than the standard, 21-inch wheels and 6-piston brakes. Models got a system of choice of driving modes Audi drive select and a dynamic chassis control system. For a surcharge, it is possible to order 21-inch wheels and carbon-ceramic brakes.
Both models have black leather and Alcantara sports seats with bright stitching, a sports steering wheel, illuminated door sills, glossy black accents and other elements that are traditional for “charged” versions. In Europe, orders for new items will be accepted in October. For the Audi RS Q3 you will have to pay 63,500 euros, and the cost of the coupe-like variation will be 65,000 euros.
It also became known earlier that the most powerful variations of the Audi RS will acquire a hybrid powertrain. It is assumed that the new items will be shown at the auto show in Los Angeles.
