Audi showed the first image of an electric Q2 L e-tronNovember 21, 2018
Audi Q2 L e-tron was developed taking into account the specifics of the Chinese market.
At an event marking the 30th anniversary of Audi and First Automotive Works (FAW) cooperation, the German manufacturer showed the first image of the Q2 L e-tron electric crossover. The first electric model Audi, created specifically for China, will enter the local market next year – a year earlier than e-tron.
There is no official information about the electric crossover, so for now you can rely only on rumors. So, according to the Indian Autos Blog, the model will be based on the MQB platform. On one charge, the electric car will be able to drive up to 500 kilometers. The exterior of the crossover will be more traditional – again, to take into account the preferences of local buyers. According to another version, the photograph is a sketch, and the design of the Q2 L e-tron product version will be based on the style of the older e-tron.
Q2 L e-tron will become part of Audi’s strategy for the release of “localized” versions of models that take into account the specifics of Chinese customers, as well as the launch of new digital services. The company was the first to offer specially designed 3D maps and a system for recognizing hieroglyphs in China.
In September, Audi introduced its first electric car. The e-tron crossover received a power unit with two asynchronous electric motors (360 horsepower and 561 Nm of torque) and a battery pack with a capacity of 95 kilowatt-hours. On a single charge, it can travel up to 500 kilometers through the WLTP cycle.
