Audi showed the debut official photos of the “pumped” models of the next generation Audi RS 3June 10, 2021
This photo shoot was the first look at the next generation Audi RS 3, which in the form of a 5-door hatchback and sedan, ahead of a full launch later this year.
This summer will debut the new Challenger Mercedes-AMG A 45 S from Audi, powered by the same 2.5-liter 5-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine found in the Audi RS Q3 and TT RS.
The five-cylinder engine produces 395 hp. and 480 Nm. That’s slightly less than 415 hp. and 500 Nm of torque from the A 45 S. But this should be enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in about 4 seconds. By comparison, the TT RS can accelerate in 3.7 seconds.
Power is transmitted via the dual-clutch automatic transmission to the quattro all-wheel drive system. Like the previous generation, the platform and gearbox of the new RS 3 are supported by a host of new technologies such as adjustable suspension dampers, torque vectoring option and electric power steering.
The new Audi RS 3 is based on Volkswagen’s MQB platform with some upgrades. Cars in official Audi images have intricate camouflage patterns that mask most of the details of the new car. Like all RS Audis, the new RS 3 will feature a targeted body kit that sets it apart from its less powerful A3 siblings, both in the five-door Sportback and in sedan form.
At the front, Audi has installed a bolder bumper with wider air intakes. Together with a couple of additional ventilation holes on the trailing edge of the front wheel arches. The side skirts are deeper than the standard A3, while the rear has an oversized fender, reimagined diffuser and a set of oversized tailpipes.
Inside, a pair of sports seats with reinforced supports, a sports steering wheel, aluminum pedals and a row of RS screens for the 10.1-inch infotainment system and the Virtual Cockpit electronic dashboard appeared.
