Audi showed the “charged” crossover SQ8September 11, 2019
At its stand in Frankfurt, the German company introduced a high-performance version of the flagship crossover Audi Q8.
Today, automakers are doing everything possible to promote electrical mobility, but are not yet ready to abandon diesel engines. Audi plays on both sides and makes big bets on electrification. As for diesels, the company uses them in all of its models, including high-performance ones, such as the 2020 SQ8 sports crossover model year.
The SQ8 receives twin tailpipes, a large rear diffuser, a set of huge alloy wheels, new air intakes, carbon brakes and an adaptive air suspension with a dynamic Drive Select control system. Four-wheel steering is offered as an option, along with a sports differential and electromechanical active anti-roll bars.
Inside are stainless steel pedals, a D-shaped steering wheel, aluminum door sills, embossed S logos, and leather and Alcantara upholstery. On the dashboard there is the latest Audi MMI, working on three main displays, one of which is a cluster of sensors Virtual Cockpit.
As for the performance of the SQ8 crossover, it has got a 4.0-liter V8 turbocharged diesel engine, which also has an electric compressor that eliminates turbocharging. With a power of 435 hp and with a torque of 900 Nm, the stylish crossover can accelerate to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds.
