Audi S8 2020 model year looks ready to enter the marketJanuary 6, 2019
The new generation of high-performance full-size sedan Audi S8, which will be positioned as a car of 2020 model year, was again captured by the “spies” on the Nurburgring. The car literally stormed the racing track.
According to insiders, the long-awaited German novelty will have a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which was borrowed from the Porsche Panamera Turbo, under the hood. In the case of a more powerful version of the 5-door German fastback, the engine power is 550 hp. It is likely that for the needs of Audi, this figure will change slightly.
Previously it was assumed that the engineers of the German brand Audi will stop at the maximum power of a brand new Audi S8 at 530 hp.
In combination with a weight loss of about 100 kg compared with its predecessor, the model S8 of model 2020 model year should accelerate to 100 km / h in less than 4 seconds. The maximum speed with the electronic limiter removed will be approximately 300 km/h.
Even despite the fact that this prototype, which was ready for production, did not have an “S” badge on either the false radiator grille or on the trunk lid, you can find out in it a real Audi S8. The car received a slightly more aggressive front and rear bumper, as well as four exhaust pipes.
It is still not known exactly when the Audi S8 2020 will be presented. One possibility is the upcoming Detroit auto show or maybe a couple of months later in Geneva – there will also be a car dealership. After some time, a more powerful version of the S8 Plus will be shown.
