Audi RS4, BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG brought to dragMay 10, 2020
The bloggers of the carwow YouTube channel compared the acceleration and braking dynamics of 3 “charged” German cars of the previous generation – the BMW M3 E90, Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG W204 and Audi RS4 B8. These cars are similar to each other in that they have naturally aspirated V8 and similar characteristics.
The BMW M3 E90 sedan is the oldest, least efficient and lightest among competitors. The machine is equipped with a 420-horsepower 4.0 liter V8 engine, rear-wheel drive system and a 7-band “robot”. The weight of the German model is 1605 kg, and its cost on the “secondary” is approximately 25,000 pounds
Audi RS4 B8 is more modern than its competitors: the station wagon was presented in 2012, in other words, 5 years later than BMW and Mercedes-Benz sedans. The RS4 is equipped with an all-wheel drive system, a 7-speed robotic gearbox and a 450-horsepower V8 of 4.2 liters. Audi weighs 1,795 kg and is priced at £ 29,000.
The Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG is cheaper and more productive than its rivals: the W204 sedan can be bought for £ 19,000. The car is equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine with a capacity of 460 hp, a rear-wheel drive system, a 7-speed automatic transmission. The flagship modification of the C-Class weighs 1,700 kg.
A quarter mile distance 3 “charged” models of German brands overcame in 0.3 seconds. But at the start with a stroke from 79 km / h in various modes, and in measuring the effectiveness of the brakes when decelerating from 113 km / h, and in simple drag, only one car won.
