Audi RS4 Avant made more powerful and aggressiveOctober 4, 2020
Atelier ABT Sportsline locally improves the updated Audi RS4
German workshop ABT Sportsline has developed a tuning kit for the Audi RS4. The two-box was made more powerful and more aggressive: the exterior and interior were diluted with carbon fiber inserts, the engine was boosted, the chassis was reconfigured. The upgraded ABT super-wagon was named the RS4-S.
Outside, the Audi RS4-S differs from the usual RS with an ABT carbon-fiber aerokit, which includes a front splitter, fins on the air intakes in the fenders, a diffuser, and mirror covers. Another characteristic feature is the 21-inch ABT Sport GR ten-spoke alloy wheels.
Intervention in the technical stuffing is spotty: ABT engineers replaced the standard exhaust system with a custom muffler made of stainless steel, so the exhaust configuration changed – two chrome “cans” gave way to four 102-mm ones.
The output of the 2.9-liter gasoline V6 was increased from 450 horsepower and 600 Nm to 530 horsepower and 680 Nm, but there is a less extreme program with boost to 510 horsepower and 660 Nm. ABT specialists do not intervene in the settings of the automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive, but it is possible to modify the chassis by replacing the anti-roll bars and installing adjustable springs.
The interior changes are modest: stylists decorate the dash, steering wheel and transmission selector with carbon fiber and leather; the backs and headrests of the front seats are printed with ABT and RS4-S prints.
The Audi RS4 as read by ABT becomes 0.2 seconds faster in acceleration from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour, and the top speed increases to 300 kilometers per hour. The price of the upgrade kit is kept secret.
