Audi RS Q8 was faster than officially announced
December 23, 2019 According to official information, the model can accelerate to 100 kph in just 3.8 seconds. Nevertheless, the measurements made by independent experts showed much better results.
We have repeatedly met information that some automakers deliberately underestimate the capabilities of their cars in promotional materials. In particular, German automakers who scrupulously approach their reputation are guilty of this. This time they distinguished themselves in Audi, belittling the capabilities of the budget version of the Lamborghini Urus. The record holder in his class on the Nurburgning track of the Audi RS Q8 was faster than announced.
As noted in the official documentation, the “charged” flagship from Ingolstadt can accelerate to 100 km / h in just 3.8 seconds. Independent experts were able to capture a maximum acceleration speed of 3.58 seconds. Moreover, the car itself weighs 2,315 kg without a driver. Acceleration to 200 km / h took only 11.71 seconds.
All this became possible thanks to a 4.0-liter forced turbo engine. The same unit is installed on the RS, RS7 Sportback and RS6 Avant models. The crossover is capable of developing up to 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. Paired with him is a sports automatic transmission, which also received special firmware. In addition, the RS Q8 is additionally equipped with a starter generator and a proprietary all-wheel drive system that distributes torque in a proportion of 40:60, giving more power to the rear axle.
It is worth noting that the results obtained surpass even the official capabilities of the Lamborghini Urus. The model under the Italian brand is capable of accelerating to 100 kph in 3.6 seconds, and 200 km / h are typed in 12.8 seconds.
At the moment, orders are already open with an initial cost of 127,000 euros.
