Audi introduced the upgraded second-generation supercar R8, which received an improved chassis and more powerful engines
Audi has introduced an updated supercar R8. After restyling, the coupe received an improved suspension, as well as more powerful engines, including the 620-hp unit.
A supercar can be distinguished from its predecessor thanks to a modified form of radiator grille, a modernized bumper with other air intakes, as well as improved aerodynamic elements. The salon has not undergone major changes, although a new Alcantara trim has become available to it.
As for the technical part, the Audi R8 became available with the upgraded 5.2-liter units, in which the engineers reprogrammed the electronic control unit. The engine of the base supercar develops 570 hp and 550 Nm of torque, which is 30 hp and 10 Nm more than the return of the old engine. Such a car is able to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km / h in 3.4 seconds, and its maximum speed was 324 km per hour.
The top version of the Audi R8 changed its name from the V10 Plus to the V10 Performance Quattro. In its power unit, in particular, they used a new gas distribution mechanism made of titanium, due to which the engine output increased to 620 hp. and 580 Nm (10 hp and 20 Nm more powerful than its predecessor). The supercar picks up the first 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, and its maximum speed is 329 km per hour.
Restyled Audi R8 has received a modernized suspension and an improved stabilization system. Three new modes of control electronics appeared for driving on dry, wet and slippery coatings.
European sales of the updated Audi R8 will start in the first quarter of 2019. Prices for a supercar are not yet called.
