Audi launches new Audi A3 SportbackMarch 8, 2020
In Ingolstadt, the release of a new model of the German brand has started.
The 2020 Audi A3 remains exclusive to the Ingolstadt factory, which has been modernized and received a completely new body shop specifically for him. Note that this city is the birthplace of the model since the first generation appeared in 1996.
Based on the updated MQB platform, Audi’s compact hatchback is almost the same in size, with the exception of the width, which has been increased by 30 mm. The fourth generation Audi A3 takes the latest brand design decisions. The front end is dominated by a more visible front grille and sharper LED headlights. The profile received more “muscular” wings, and the back has thin LED lights, exactly the same as in the latest version of Q3.
The engine range includes a 1.5-liter gasoline TFSI with a capacity of 150 hp. and a 116-liter 2.0-liter diesel TDI or 150 hp These three engine options will only be available with front-wheel drive in the first phase and will be paired with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Of course, other models will appear later, including the basic version with a 1.0 liter TFSI three-cylinder gasoline engine and a hybrid version with a 1.5-liter TFSI engine. The hotter S3 and RS3 variants are expected to be introduced later this year, with the former being powered by a 300+ PS 2.0-liter TFSI and the latter still using a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine.
