Audi launches E-tron S sporting optionsJuly 2, 2020
German-made cars will become innovative – for the first time, three electric motors will receive serial versions for the first time.
Audi officially unveiled the electric E-Tron S. Earlier, the E-tron and E-tron Sportback in versions 50 and 55 Quattro have already entered the market. However, Audi can now offer something new. Unlike the E-tron 50 Quattro and 55 Quattro, the new modification with the S index will receive three electric motors at once. Audi has already stated that this is the first production car with such characteristics. The most powerful of the three motors is mounted on the rear axle, and the total output of the two motors in front reaches 267 hp.
Thus, the power output of the E-tron S is 503 hp. at 973 Nm of torque. This is really impressive compared to the 50 and 55 Quattro, which are capable of delivering 313 and 408 hp. The maximum speed of the Audi E-tron S reaches 210 km / h, and the car spends only 4.5 seconds to set the first 100 kph. A battery with a capacity of 86 kWh is responsible for the operation of the motor – without additional recharging, the car is able to overcome 360 km of track.
Note that the all-wheel drive system is intelligent – if you do not need such a lot of power, you can use it only in case of loss of traction of the front wheels with the road.
Separately, it is worth mentioning that when entering the turn, the wheels of the inner radius are slightly braked to provide better aerodynamics and controllability. From the exterior, we note 20-inch wheels with a corporate design. A little later, the manufacturer will offer wheels with a diameter of 21 and 22 inches. Also, versions with orange brake calipers will appear a little later. Prices for the new product have not yet been announced – they will become known closer to the start of sales. New dealers should get to dealers in July.
Meanwhile, Audi hinted at creating a powerful crossover RS Q5. This version will be the most productive for mid-size cross.
