The new car will be based on the MEB Entry platform, which was developed specifically for small electric cars.
The German auto giant Audi, like many automakers, is about to head for electrifying its cars. And one of the electric cars should become a compact sitikar. This publication Auto Express was reported in the official representative of the German brand. Note that at the moment the car is under development. At the same time, it is already known that it will be assembled on the MEB Entry platform, the creation of which the Volkswagen Group announced back in 2019. This “cart” is designed specifically for small city cars. It will allow the use of compact batteries and provide a range of up to 200 kilometers.
This indicator is considered optimal for operation in urban conditions with a well-developed infrastructure.
Audi’s plans to develop an electric city car are indirectly confirmed by the AI: Me concept car, which was presented at an exhibition in Shanghai in 2019. Then the electric car was equipped with a rear-wheel drive system and an engine with a return of 170 hp.
