Audi introduced the A6 Avant TFSI e quattro hybridApril 27, 2020
German station wagons can now also be purchased with an electric drive. Following the A6 sedan, Audi’s full-size station wagon is currently entering the market as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
According to Audi press service, intelligent drive control with a predictable driving mode allows the new Audi A6 Avant 55 TFSI e quattro to achieve high power reserve, low fuel consumption and dynamic performance. The Audi A6 Avant PHEV has a full range of standard equipment, including an external S line package, Audi virtual dashboard, Matrix LED headlights, as well as a sports suspension and sports seats.
The new A6 Avant 55 TFSI e quattro received a 367-horsepower powerplant that combines a 2.0 TFSI engine with 252 hp. and a torque of 370 Nm with a powerful electric motor. Peak torque is 350 Nm. The electrical unit, together with the isolation clutch, is integrated into the seven-speed S tronic, which uses cutting-edge technology to transmit quattro torque. Thus, the Audi A6 Avant PHEV has an efficient and constantly available all-wheel drive for an equally high level of traction and dynamic handling. The system torque is already reaching its maximum value of 500 Nm at 1250 rpm.
Exclusively on electric traction, the new Audi A6 Avant 55 TFSI e quattro is capable of driving up to 51 kilometers. New accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5.7 seconds. Its maximum speed is 250 km / h – in electric mode, the hybrid plug-in can reach speeds of up to 135 km / h.
The drive concept of the Audi PHEV is designed so that customers can travel only electrically for most of their daily lives. They can choose between three driving modes: “EV” for all-electric driving, Hybrid for the efficient combination of both types of drive, and “Hold” to save power available at any given time.
Customers can use the myAudi app to manage charging. The air conditioning system works in conjunction with a highly efficient heat pump that uses the waste heat from the drive components. Using the cable in standard mode, customers can charge the hybrid module on public charging terminals with an output of up to 7.4 kW. Thus, the lithium-ion battery charges in about 2.5 hours.
The lithium-ion battery, which is located at the rear of the car, accumulates 14.1 kWh of energy: it is built in so that the luggage compartment is still a smooth and comfortable compartment. Its capacity is 405 liters as standard – without a step on the loading floor. This means that even large and oversized loads can be easily loaded and transported.
The base price for the Audi A6 Avant 55 TFSI e quattro is € 71,940.
