Audi has released a new teaser for the unmanned electric vehicle AI: meApril 2, 2019
While the car will be presented in the form of a concept, whose role is to demonstrate the future technologies and directions for the development of design for the next ten years.
The press service of Audi is preparing for the debut of the new concept. The car will demonstrate the company’s capabilities in the field of electrification, as well as in the segment of unmanned technology. The concept from Ingolstadt will be presented at the upcoming motor show in Shanghai. The company describes it as: “a compact car with an autonomous control system for the megacities of the future”.
According to the head of the Audi design department, Mark Lichte, the creation of the concept will make it possible to visually show the company’s plans for the development of electrification and the concept of a future model line. It is assumed that the model will receive a fourth-level drone, which allows fully autonomous control mode and manual mode. The company must provide a mechanism for retracting the steering wheel when unmanned control mode.
In addition, to the 50th anniversary of the company in 2021, a line of UAVs will be launched into mass production. And it will be symbolic, given the company’s slogan – “Promotion through technology.”
