Audi has published a new teaser image of its first electric crossover called E-Tron. According to the press service of the German brand, the official premiere of the car will be held at a special event in San Francisco on September 17, 2019. Also, a live broadcast from the event will be conducted on the Internet.
In the model line of the brand E-Tron will take place between Q5 and Q7. The main competitor of the car will be Jaguar I-Pace and Tesla Model X. At the moment, the production of an environmentally friendly crossover is established at the plant in Brussels (Belgium).
As for design, he repeats the conceptual e-tron quattro, which was presented in autumn 2015 in Frankfurt. The novelty will be the first production car that will use special cameras instead of side mirrors.
The serial Audi E-Tron will be equipped with two electric engines, in total giving out 360 horsepower. With the activation of the sports mode for a short time, the power can increase to more than 400 hp. The crossover can accelerate from place to 100 km / h in six seconds, and its maximum speed is 200 km / h.
The engines will be powered by a set of batteries at 95 kWh, which will allow to travel without recharging up to 400 kilometers. When using a 150-kilowatt fast recharging system, the battery reserve can be replenished in half an hour.
The car will receive an advanced energy recovery system. The German automaker said that in more than 90% of the maneuvers associated with deceleration, the driver will not have to press the brake – the electric vehicle is able to slow down rapidly when the accelerator pedal is abruptly dropped.
Recall that earlier its electric crossover introduced another premium-brand – in Stockholm they showed a serial SUV Mercedes-Benz EQC. This model will go on sale next year, video cameras for it are not yet provided.
