Audi has increased the range of the Audi e-TronNovember 28, 2019
The automaker updated the software of the electric car, which allowed him to add several kilometers.
“Every detail matters” – this is the principle applied by engineers working on the Audi e-tron when they were able to further expand the power reserve offered by the electric car. Future versions of the Audi e-tron 55 quattro will be able to travel up to 436 kilometers with a full battery charge, which is an additional 25 km compared to its previous capabilities.
Thanks to the new type of brakes, the developers have achieved a further reduction in the so-called residual braking torque. These are losses resulting from the proximity of the brake calipers to the brake discs. The drive system has also become more efficient. With normal movement, the engine on the rear axle provides traction as standard. Now, thanks to a number of optimizations, the front electric motor is almost completely disconnected and disconnected from the power supply. Only when the driver presses the gas pedal with great effort, both engines start to work.
Work without loss of power or resistance, the main advantage of the concept of an induction motor, as a result is even more efficient. In addition, the useful range of the high voltage battery has increased. The battery in the Audi e-tron 55 quattro has a total capacity of 95 kW / h and now gives customers access to 86.5 kW / h of clean electricity. All new models will be updated. Customers do not have to pay extra. Recall that prices for the Audi e-tron 55 quattro start at 80,900 euros.
