Audi has announced the debut of two new products at the Los Angeles Auto Show
November 15, 2019It was previously reported that the serial e-tron Sportback will be Audi’s main exhibit at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2019, and it has now become known that it will be joined by the high-performance RS Q8 SUV.
Audi will have two world premieres at the main auto show in California, as well as a debut in North America – RS6 Avant. The automaker has even released a teaser for the new e-tron Sportback, showing the shape of the headlights that will be equipped with the new Digital Matrix technology.
For the first time in a production car, Digital Matrix headlights can illuminate the path in front of the car “with unprecedented accuracy through the use of about a million micromirrors.” That’s all that Audi is ready to tell you about this lighting technology.
Earlier on the network, several spy shots of the Audi e-tron Sportback were published, revealing the appearance of the electric car – this is, in fact, a crossover coupe based on the usual e-tron. The automaker said the Sportback shares the powertrain with an e-tron and will be built at the same factory in Brussels, Belgium.
As for the Audi RS Q8, it is a high-performance SUV with a 4.0-liter TFSI engine with two V8 turbines with cylinder shut-off technology and a soft hybrid psystem based on a 48-volt starter generator.
