The first electric Audi, the e-tron crossover, will appear in the dealerships of the brand a month after the scheduled date. The reason for the delay is the problems with the firmware, as well as the sudden increase in the price of batteries by the supplier LG Chem.

According to Reuters, changes made to the crossover software need additional verification. This manufacturer will spend up to four weeks. However, according to other information, the delay may be several months. In addition, the German newspaper Bild am Sonntag reports that the battery supplier LG Chem intends to raise prices by 10 percent. The companies began negotiations, but they have not yet led to any result.

The public debut of Audi e-tron took place in September. The crossover was equipped with two electric motors, electric four-wheel drive and a unique energy recovery system with three modes of operation. It provides up to 30 percent of the e-tron power reserve. Before an overload of -0.3 g, the crossover accumulates energy using electric motors, without using the usual braking system.

The power reserve of the Audi e-tron on the WLTP cycle is 400 kilometers. A battery with a capacity of 95 kilowatt-hours is charged from a basic charger with an output of 11 kilowatts in 8.5 hours, from a 150-kilowatt charging station in 30 minutes to 80 percent.

The price of the crossover in the United States will be at least $ 74,800. In Europe, the electric car will be available at the end of this year at a price of 79,900 euros.
