Audi continued cooperation with Bayern MunichJanuary 14, 2020
Audi and Bayern Munich football club together strive for the future: two premium brands form a strong team since 2002, extending and expanding their partnership until 2029.
The German automaker is the exclusive automotive partner of Bayern Munich. The next decade will focus on strategic collaboration in innovative marketing and electrification. As proof of intent, all licensed club players will receive an all-electric Audi e-tron in 2020.
The partnership between Audi and Bayern Munich Football Club is a success story: since 2002, the four-ring brand has supported the most successful German football club. In addition, Audi has been a shareholder of FC Bayern München AG since 2011. The Audi Cup, which was held for the sixth time in 2019 at the Allianz Arena, is one of the preparatory tournaments in Europe.
“Bayern Munich is ideally suited to Audi’s new strategic direction. We want to be close to our fans, customers and potential customers. As an exclusive automotive partner for Bayern Munich, we have the opportunity to introduce electric mobility and connectivity, ”said Hildegard Wortmann, Board Member of AUDI AG Marketing and Sales.
For the entire fleet provided by Audi for Bayern Munich, an average maximum level of emissions of 95 grams of CO2 per km was agreed upon for the duration of the agreement. This practically corresponds to the legal requirements for fleets of manufacturers for January 2020. At least half of all vehicles will be electrified in the future. The new strategic partnership also includes the possibility of implementing individual projects with other Volkswagen Group brands.
