Audi chief designer reveals details of upcoming E-Tron GTJanuary 23, 2021
The Audi e-Tron GT will debut on 9 February. A few weeks before this important event, the automaker unveiled a series of pictures of the new car, and the head of the Audi design department, Mark Lichte, gave interesting details.
The e-Tron GT concept car was presented two years ago. The production car will largely repeat the design of this show car: the company wanted to make the novelty spectacular.
In addition to the original and striking design, the e-tron GT gets a very effective form, “working” on the dynamic potential of the electric car. “Refined aerodynamics” – this is how Mark Lichte characterized the new design language. This is the spirit in which Audi’s future electric models will be styled.
The special pride of German designers is the interior of the new electric car. The car interior is much more spacious than it seems from the outside. Compact on the outside, spacious on the inside.
Electric mobility adds lightness and functionality to the interior – with the same space as in the more premium segment, Lichte says. The architecture chosen for the e-tron GT emphasizes not only the typical sportiness of the GT with a clear driver orientation, but also its stability.
Audi is known to introduce several variants of the e-Tron GT, including an RS version.
Previously, an updated Audi S8 was seen in winter tests. The novelty revealed a changed radiator grille with a large mesh pattern.
