Audi brought to test the updated R8June 13, 2018
It is no longer a secret that the third generation of the German sports car will hardly receive a new (third in a row) generation, but this does not mean that the current version of the model will no longer develop.
“Spy” photos of the updated sports car R8 first appeared in early October last year. Well, a couple of hours ago (today, June 13), foreign automotive media published another portion of such shots.
This confirms the rumors that Audi engineers are still working on another update of the model.
So, what has changed in the Audi R8 in terms of design? In front of the car there was a revised bumper, which received large air intakes on the sides – they have a mesh pattern that is similar to the one used in the radiator grille. The latter was also subject to changes – a similar grating can be seen in all current models of the German brand.
The most obvious changes occurred at the rear of the car – the bumper was redesigned to accommodate two new oval exhaust tips. There are suggestions that there is nothing before us like a charged version of the R8 GT. The honeycomb structure, which is at the radiator grille, is repeated at the rear of the car – only here it extends over the entire width of the car.
It’s interesting that even the side profile is slightly different from what we used to see earlier on previous versions of this car. The hole in the doorway is made huge, probably in order to increase the aerodynamic efficiency of the novelty.
It can be assumed that Audi engineers are working on upgrading the atmospheric 5.0-liter V10 with supercharging. Now, its maximum power is 602 horsepower.
Finally, we note that the official presentation of the German novelty can take place at the end of this year or early next year.
Not long ago, we wrote about the fact that Audi has started tests of the new A6 Allroad Avant.
