Audi announced the recall of its diesel carsNovember 13, 2018
The hype around the “dieselgate” that shook the Volkswagen Group and the industry as a whole begins to subside, but …
The diesel scandal around the German car concern Volkswagen Group and its cars, which were equipped with diesel power units, broke out in the distant 2015. The prestigious automaker – the company Audi, is included in this concern. And that is why he literally a couple of hours ago announced the beginning of the recall of diesel cars from Germany.
Apparently all the hype around the “dieselgate” completely settles only when all diesel cars of the German concern are recalled.
With the approval of the German Federal Highway Administration (known locally as KBA), the Audi brand announced the first of eight scheduled reviews for diesel models that are expected to cover about 151,000 vehicles. It is reported that the number is valid only for the automotive market in Germany.
In the near future, 31,200 copies of the A6 and A7, which were produced in the period from 2015 to 2018, will be withdrawn. Blame the 3.0-liter TDI diesel engine. As part of this service company, the problem cars will have their firmware replaced, which, in fact, underestimated the real indicators of the amount of harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
As the official representatives of the German brand separately note, the replacement of firmware will not in any way affect the change in the dynamic characteristics of cars.
Not so long ago, we wrote that the next generation Audi TT could become a four-door coupe.
