Audi allocated 5 million euros to help patients with coronavirusApril 1, 2020
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Audi provides support to medical and social facilities in its regions, as well as humanitarian assistance at the national and international levels.
In order to support patients with coronavirus, the company provides emergency assistance in the amount of 5 million euros. The AUDI AG board and production boards at the sites in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm have already allocated this assistance package.
“The coronavirus pandemic poses extremely complex challenges for us – for us both for the company and for society as a whole. I would like to thank all Audi employees who look to the future, contribute and help where they are needed at this extraordinary time. I would also like to thank all those who do business around the world. I am convinced that for Audi employees everything will continue after the crisis ends. At the moment, one thing is most important: the health of our employees, their families and society as a whole. And to protect it, we need to smooth out the infection curve, ”said Markus Düsmann, new chairman of the board of directors of AUDI AG.
The first large donations have already begun to go to medical centers. On Monday, March 30, AUDI AG transferred a total of 600 thousand euros to the hospitals in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, in addition to the 5 million euros allocated today. In Ingolstadt, Audi now also supports the “sprint4local – One Week for Ingolstadt” initiative. Audi Group offices around the world also provide local support in their regions: among other things, they transfer medical equipment. Further measures are currently being worked out in detail in all directions.
