Audi A3 gets a new diesel versionJune 9, 2020
The German automaker is expanding the price list of the new A3 sedan with a new diesel version 30 TDI.
The all-new Audi A3 Sportback was introduced in March followed by the A3 sedan in April. After its premiere, Audi immediately announced the first prices: 30 TFSI received a price tag of 34 870 euros, 35 TFSI – 38 450 euros and 35 TDI – 44 910 euros.
According to autoweek.nl, a more modest motorized diesel version now joins the 150-horsepower 35 TDI. Anyone who is a little familiar with the Audi engine knows that the 2.0 TDI is 116 hp. Is the less powerful TDI brother with 150 hp. from version A3 35 TDI.
The 116-hp diesel engine, to which Audi gives the designation 30 TDI, is now located under the hood of the A3 sedan. Two diesel versions of engines differ from each other only in power. And if the 35 TDI always uses an S-tronic automatic gearbox, the TDI version 30 is always connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Audi European dealers are asking for a minimum of € 39,070 for the A3 30 TDI. In this case, the sedan is offered by Pro Line. Thus, the price difference with 35 TDI is 5 840 euros. The cost of modification S is 43,070 euros. However, at the start of sales, the A3 30 TDI, like other versions of the engine, is available as a First Edition. This introductory version with a new entry-level diesel starts at 43,480 euros.
