Atoy Customs seriously upgraded the Toyota FJ Cruiser SUVJune 19, 2020
Philippine tuning company Atoy Customs has decided to significantly modernize the Japanese SUV Toyota FJ Cruiser. The car received additional off-road capabilities and an increase in the power of its native motor.
Almost two decades have passed since Toyota came up with the idea of introducing a completely new version of the old FJ40 SUV. According to the brand’s marketers, the resulting car should have been mainly bought by younger motorists. The result was a stylish and at the same time brutal SUV Toyota FJ Cruiser. The novelty was based on the platform on which other brand SUVs were built – Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 120 and Toyota 4Runner.
Atoy Customs-based tuning studio in the Philippines decided to introduce its own version of the FJ Cruiser. The resulting car is the obvious opposite of what most people would do to upgrade a car designed to overcome the terrain.
So, Atoy Customs experts installed Tein Endura Pro + shock absorbers and 40 mm KYB Xtage springs.
According to the studio’s specialists, the upgraded version of the SUV was supposed to be able to move quickly, so it was necessary to reduce the total weight of the car. Separately, it is worth mentioning the niche for the spare tire on the tailgate, but there is no wheel there.
In addition, lightweight Stealth Custom F5 tires were used, wrapped in road tires. The SUV engine received numerous upgrades, in particular a more efficient intake and exhaust system, which led to a significant increase in power to 238 horsepower (343 Nm).
