Atelier ABT Upgraded Audi S4 TouringNovember 16, 2019
The upgraded version of the “charged” wagon Audi S4 Avant can boast more power and a set of rims.
Recently, the German tuning studio ABT presented a modernized version of the updated Audi S6 Avant station wagon, but now it is the model’s “smaller” brother – the “charged” S4 Avant station wagon. In addition to numerous changes in the technical part of the car, the guys from ABT equipped the car with 20-inch wheels of their own production. As is usually the case with ABT studio projects, the resulting cars are practically no different from the original cars on which they were based.
Thanks to the changes that were made to the design of the standard suspension of the car, ground clearance decreased by 40 millimeters. The high-performance wagon Audi S6 Avant can now boast of a stabilizer bar, which is made of spring steel, which allows you to increase the controllability of the car when quickly passing even the coolest turns.
It all sounds great, but what about more power? Engineers of the tuning company spent a long time trying to modify the standard version of the electrified 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine, which previously had 342 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque.
After the end of all work with the motor, these indicators were increased to 378 hp. 760 Nm, respectively.
It goes without saying that an extra 36 hp (61 Nm) raised the dynamic characteristics of the German station wagon, if not to a new level, then certainly made them better. Now S4 Avant accelerates to the first 100 kph in just 4.7 seconds, or two tenths of a second faster than the stock version of the car. It is reported that with the same upgrades, the Audi S4 sedan will be able to display a result of 4.6 seconds.
