Atelier ABT pumped electric van VW e-Transporter 6.1March 19, 2020
VW Commercial Vehicles and ABT Sportline have released detailed information on the all-electric version of the modernized Transporter 2020 model van. Cruising range is 138.4 km, the car costs $ 50,000
Named ABT e-Transporter 6.1 and based on the 2020 VW Transporter, the electric commercial vehicle is available in the following bodies: long wheelbase van, Kombi or Caravelle, as well as right-hand and left-hand drive configurations.
Depending on the specification chosen, ABT e-Transporter 6.1 offers a range of up to 138 km in accordance with the international WLTP standard.
The battery pack has a useful power of 32.5 kWh (gross power 37.3 kWh) and delivers electricity to an 83 kW or 113 hp engine, which provides an instant available torque of 200 Nm.
These are not impressive numbers, especially considering the fact that one battery weighs 333 kg. Nevertheless, the ABT Sportsline studio positions its novelty as a city van, in which case such technical specifications are adequate. The maximum load capacity varies from 977 to 1096 kg in the model with a long wheelbase. In the Kombi or Caravelle version, the car can carry up to nine people.
E-Transporter is available with maximum speed options: 90 or 120 km / h, with a range of 105 and 138 km, respectively. It takes approximately 5.5 hours to fully charge the battery through a 7.2 kW wall-mounted AC unit, while a 50 kW fast charging station (CCS) replenishes the battery to 80 percent capacity in about 45 minutes.
ABT e-Transporter 6.1 can be ordered right now. Prices in Germany start from 44 990 euros for a panel van, 49 623 euros for Kombi and 56 475 euros for a Caravelle.
