At the Nurburgring test high-performance version of the model Toyota Yaris?April 17, 2019
Japanese novelty will be presented in October this year at the Tokyo Motor Show as a hatchback 2020 model year. The European version of Yaris will appear next year and should go on sale in early 2021.
It seems that the Japanese brand Toyota is working on the fourth generation of its subcompact hatchback. While the Shanghai Auto Show is in full swing, the New York Auto Show is just beginning. A team of engineers is testing a prototype of the new product at the Nürburgring race track.
The test car was wearing a fancy camouflage film from the sports team Gazoo Racing Masters of Nürburgring (GRMN), which we also saw on the new generation Supra coupe.
This may be a sign that we have nothing more than a high-performance version of the hatchback, with bulging wings, dual exhaust and large wheels wrapped in low-profile tires.
The current Yaris has already received a version from GRMN, which has a limited edition of 400 units in Europe. The Old Continent also has a Yaris GR Sport. We tend to believe that this is an early prototype of the next generation model, carrying most of the body of the current car. We make this assumption, because for the life cycle of the third generation “Yaris” it is probably too late to release another exclusive performance.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that the new Toyota Highlander SUV in the RAV4 style was officially presented.
