At the Nurburgring spotted Mercedes-Maybach S-Class

Massive rear doors are a clear sign that we are dealing with a very long S.

S-class cars are positioned as luxury sedans, so the automaker is very careful about updating the model. The debut of the latest model from Daimler may take place in the coming months, but the model seen on the tests will be presented much later. This is due to the fact that the Maybach version will become the flagship, unless you take into account the super-long Pullman model.

The novelty was seen during the final tests at the Nurburgring, but it still had a significant amount of camouflage to hide the revised design. While the body remains mostly covered in disguise, it is easy to notice the massive rear doors showing that we are dealing with a sedan that is one step higher than the usual S-Class. Hidden door handles are again featured on the model, although some other prototypes discovered recently have had ordinary handles.

The camouflage in the front hides the revised grill with vertical slats, presented a couple of years ago on the Maybach S-Class Pullman facelift and recently seen on the Maybach GLS. Around are new headlights, featuring a fresh design that matches other sedans with a three-pointed star. The rear optics are hidden under the film, but we tend to believe that the lights extend to the trunk lid for a greater visual effect.

Photo spies were not able to look inside the cabin, but AutoTimesNews previously reported that the W223 will open a completely new dashboard design with a giant touch screen oriented vertically. We saw this on the prototypes of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The display will replace some of the usual buttons.

Nothing is known about the technical characteristics of the new product, but Maybach has always been a leader in innovation. We expect a very advanced semi-autonomous driving system, the latest security systems, not to mention the updated version of the MBUX infotainment system and the latest series of electrified powertrains.
