At the Nurburgring, a prototype of the updated crossover Kia Sorento 2021 is noticed.July 12, 2019
The South Korean mid-size novelty of the 2021 model year passed a series of speed tests at the Nürburgring race track. The official presentation is likely to take place next year.
From small hatchbacks to supercars and from minibuses to SUVs, the German Nürburgring is the place where most European brands and some Asian ones test their future products. South Korean Kia regularly appears on the track, as it has such a strong presence in Europe, where it even has models specially created for Europe, such as the Ceed family.
In these spy shots, we are offered to look at a completely new version of the Sorento mid-size crossover. This is the same prototype that journalists shot on camera earlier this month, but now we have a video showing us the novelty of the 2021 model year in action.
As in the case of other test cars that we see in Green Hell, the mid-size crossover drove pretty quickly. Under all this camouflage, it looks like there is a serial body and front optics, but cheap taillights are an obvious sign that they will be replaced with something more complicated on a production-ready car.
The third generation Sorento was introduced in August 2014 and received a typical mid-cycle update in 2018, which probably means that the fourth generation model will appear on the market in 2020 or 2021. The design looks a bit more elegant compared to the current model, and it seems that something interesting is happening with the central bar. The car will not get the same square exterior as the big Telluride. A fully digital dashboard and a large-screen infotainment system may appear in the cabin.
