At the Festival of speed will show a 1000-hp super hybrid McLarenJuly 3, 2018
British firm Lanzante – racing partner McLaren – has published a teaser of the new version of the super hybrid McLaren P1, which will receive a prefix GT in the title. The premiere of the car will take place in mid-July at the Festival of Speed in Goodwood.
Judging by the image, the McLaren P1 GT will receive an elongated and lower rear body, another splitter, an air intake on the roof, and a huge rear fender.
According to preliminary data, the novelty will be equipped with a hybrid power plant consisting of a 3.8-liter V8 engine with two turbines and an electric motor. The total output of the units will be 1000 horsepower.
It is assumed that the hypercar was built on the special order of one of the clients from the Middle East. At the same time, later, McLaren and Lanzante can produce several more such cars.
The latest innovation of McLaren was the supercar 600 LT (Longtail), which became the flagship of the younger family Sport Series. McLaren 600LT with lightweight construction is equipped with a substantially modified biturbo motor with a working volume of 3.8 liters, developing 600 hp and 620 Nm of torque, which is 30 hp and 20 Nm more than the output of the engine 570S. Thus, the ratio of power to mass was 474 forces per ton.
