At Silverstone ready to accept the Grand PrixApril 28, 2020
After the promoters of the Grand prix of France confirmed the cancellation of the race due to the coronavirus pandemic, at Silverstone they announced their readiness to accept the stage in the empty stands.
Stuart Pringle, Managing Director: “I am upset that this year we will not be able to hold the British Grand Prix with fans in the stands. We delayed this difficult decision for as long as possible, but it is obvious that in today’s circumstances, given the situation in the country and the measures taken by the government, this is completely impossible.
Our obligations to protect the health and safety of everyone involved in the preparation and conduct of competitions, volunteers, marshals, organizers and, of course, our amazing fans leave us only one option.
We always said that if we find ourselves in such a situation, we will support Formula 1, where they are now looking for alternative options for holding the 2020 season. Together with other departments, we are working on the organization of the stage behind closed doors. Perhaps you will be a little comforted by the live broadcast of the Grand Prix in the UK on Sky and Chanel 4 channels. “
