At auction 717-hp Mazda MX-5 with a protruding engine from under the hoodSeptember 29, 2019
A lot with the Mazda Miata 1999 will be put up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson auction house already in October, under the hood of which is a V8 engine developing 717 horsepower. So far, the cost of the “charged” car has not been disclosed.
The orange roadster is equipped with a 6.2-liter compressor engine from the legendary American muscle car Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. Interestingly, the engine did not fit in the engine compartment, and the car owner decided to make a large hole in the hood so that the engine fits entirely. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.
According to the data obtained on the description of the car, the pumped Mazda Miata received an upgraded suspension, increased brakes, a sports safety cage, racing seats with five-point belts and 10-inch new wheels for the best grip.
American donor Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 350 km / h. Imagine squeezing a Mazda Miata, which is significantly lighter and smaller in size compared to a muscle car. The Japanese roadster should be even faster than the SRT Hellcat.
